Are you Ready for some Football?!?!?!?!?!

The season has already begun!  You'd think after 10 years of football, I'd be ready for this.  Yet every year it creeps up on me sooooo fast.  I still have to finish my spirit scarves and peppy spirit gloves!  This year, I will be the loudest most obnoxious football mom ever! I should be!  I have two beautiful young men playing varsity!  I dont want to miss the excitement, the thrill. This year and next will be the last years of high school football for a little while!   GO BRONCOS, GO BLUE!
From the day my oldest son started football, until the day my youngest son finishes, this mom will have 21 consecutive years of football under my belt!  What more can a mama want!
These next two seasons of varsity football, will be immediately followed by another 11 years, starting in 2nd grade with tackle little league!  I will jump from the top right back to the bottom, working my way through the years all over again!
I shoulda kept track of the money spent on cletes!  Heck, I shoulda bought stock in Nike and Under Armor!  Still, I get to this point in the year, and start yearning for the smells of hot dogs on cool evenings, and the smell of sweat-nasty stinkin' up my laundry room. Autumn isn't the same without football. The cheers, the tears, the announcers calling out your son's name, the crowd at the game, seeing your breathe in the stands, the marching bands, knowing the hours and hours of practice are paying off, hearing the crowds boo and scoff..........Man!!!!!  What a wonderful thing football is!
Ten years ago I dreaded every minute of football.  I never appreciated the game, never understood it, thought it was pure nonsense, a bunch of guys beating each other up on the field and then slappin' each other's bahooska on the way off the field.  I hated sitting in the rain, and freezing cold, the ungodly long practices and the time sacrificed all summer long for just 8-9 games.  Now...........I can't imagine why they dont play longer, harder.  I never saw the change, never thought I'd actually enjoy it, but seeing how dedicated your sons are to it, well, then it softens a mama's heart.  Now I find myself calling the plays before they blow the whistle or start the clock.  I can see each offsides call, every bad move by a player/coach/referee, and I know more about strong side/weak side plays than I ever dreamed of.  I see now that when you understand something, you can learn to love and appreciate it.
So c'mon Broncos!!!! Let's get to play-offs!
